Here is a list of the most memorable moments in the GOFL. There have been many!
Best Records
Baseball: 159-92-13,    Vince - 2005
Basketball: 125-62-2,    Vic - 2002
Football: 11-2,    Vince - 2007(c)    Scott - 2008(a)    JJ - 2008(c)

1. Glenn defeats Vic by 1/3 of an inning pitched on the last pitch of the MLB season from Greg Aquino in 2004.

2. Pete and Wheats end in a tie in 2008 basketball. They tied in assists to make it 4-4-1, but Pete held the
points category - the tiebreaker. David West is once again the MVP of a title team.

3. Scott and KU end in a tie in 2008(b) football, but Scott holds tiebreaker as top seed from barely finishing
ahead of KU in the regular season total points.

4. Down 14 games played due to injuries with no moves vs. Glenn in 2005 basketball, Vic pulls the upset on
the backs of Ben Gordon and Michael Redd's huge weeks.

5. Stephen Curry drops 42 pts on the last game of the year to overtake Vic in the points category and win the
title for Chad.

6. Drew wins the inaugural GOFL fantasy league season ever in 2002 football. We laughed at him for drafting
Drew "Sack Dummy" Bledsoe, but he proved to be the fixture of his title team. It was discovered that Drew
kept a lucky banana in his drawer at work all season. Nasty joker!

7. The dominance of Tony: 2 TD's from Testaverde (ugg) to Coles in the 4th qtr of the last game brings Tony
back from behind vs. Vic to capture the 2005(b) inaugural title. Tony followed up this rookie season by
winning the regular season title in 2005 baseball, repeating in football in 2006(b), winning the regular season
and championship titles in 2006 baseball, winning the regular season title in 2007 basketball during his
rookie season, and winning 2009 baseball . That's 4 rings and 4 regular season titles in 10 seasons if you're
counting..

8. Vic runs from 9th place to 2nd place in 7 weeks during 2008 baseball and captures the title over Chad in the
finals, 10-2. A couple of controversial trades added to the competitiveness of the league this season.

9. Vince repeats in 2005-2006 baseball to become first ever back-to-back title holder.

10. Tomlinson carries Chad to a title in 2003(b) and 2003(c) football.

1
1. Vic spanks the vets in his first baseball season in 2003(a) by beating Glenn in the finals. Vic meets Chris,
Antonio,  and Albert for the first time. Vic also doubled up by beating Antonio in the finals in 2003(b)
baseball. Carlos Beltran was on both teams and would later win him another title in 2008.

1
2. Vic misses a playoffs for the first time ever in the 2006(a) football season, ending a stretch of 21
consecutive seasons in the dances. He missed despite scoring the 3rd most points in the league but ending
with a 6-7 record.

1
3. Scott marches to 20-2 in the 2007-2008(b) football league before falling to Vince. Scott would go on to win
the title and repeat in a hail of dominance.

1
4. Vince starts the 2005(b) football season out 6-0, but losed 7 in a row to miss the playoffs.

1
5. Chris, 1-20 h2h vs. Vic at the time, defeats him for his first title in 2005(a) football.

1
6. LJ vs. LT: Tony defeats Wheats to repeat in the 2006(b) football season.

1
7. Stefan knocks Vic out of the playoffs in round 1 of 2006 basketball as a rookie. It ends a string of 5
consecutive finals appearances for Vic.

1
8. Nomo-gate, Vlad-gate, Arenas-gate I, Arenas-gate II, Miggy-gate, Sabathia-gate, Barnes-gate, and
Granger-gate. Just to name a few!

19. Larry wins first title over Chad in 2008(a) football.

20. Wheats wins first title after 4 runner-ups in 2009(b) football. JJ wins first title in 2009(a) football.

If you weren't following mine and Chad's matchup in the basketball finals, then you missed one of the greatest battles for a title in the history of the Guru League.
While I still say the baseball title I lost to Glenn by 1/3 of an innings pitched (a category back then) on the last pitch of the MLB season is almost impossible to
beat, THIS finals comes really close. The reason I would probably say it's the best one ever is because of all the fun things that happened during finals week
and the dominant players on our squads. I don't think we've had 2 teams that were this damn good in any matchups in the past. Chad managed his team
brilliantly most of the season, making several key trades (Curry, Frye) and great pickups (Collison, Terrance Williams) while suffering the loss of the irreplacable
CP3.
While it is disappointing to not bring home the title, I absolutely have no complaints about the outcome. It was a fantastic finals and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Here is a recap (aimed at documentating the events in a fun way)....

First, with so many categories in play, setting my lineup was chaos. I have a team full of very viable players and I had to find a winning mix. With Stuckey and
Gordon out for DET, Bynum was a no-brainer (fuck you John Kuester you piece of shit, lol. I still have no idea why Bynum didn't play in the 2nd half). Jarred
Jack vs. NY was a gamble, but provided the best opportunity for AST and would help in FT. I sat Iguodala and it was the hardest move I have ever made. I just
couldn't risk that sunofabitch shooting 5 for 10 from the FT line (turned out not to matter, and Iggy put up a stinker line that wouldn't have won me anything). Sitting
SJax and Mayo was an easy call, as Bobcats had clinched and Mayo was nursing sore ankle in meaningless game. As it turns out, Mayo's points could have
brought home the hardware. But I have no regrets about the decision. If sitting Iggy would have cost me though, I would have been kicking myself.

Chad jumped out to an early lead in the week - something he would maintain for probably 95% of the matchup and after 1st game tipoff....but he immediately
found himself behind the gun. Manu being a late scratch while he was in Chad's lineup was critical. This put Chad 1 game down for the matchup with only 59
games played vs. my 60. Up .833 to .832 in FT going into the day, Chad immediately fell apart at the FT line and that category was a wrap with less than a
quarter of the first games underway. This put me in a position where I only needed 2 categories out of PTS, REB, AST - and I was up pretty big in PTS (back to
that in a minute). I was calling Doc Rivers all sorts of names as I watched Rondo play 40 minutes in a meaningless blowout racking up stats - namely the 21 pts
which is 7 above his average. Collison and Gallinari wouldn't let up either and dropped 20 point games on me while Brook Lopez could only muster up 12 and
7 in a 2OT game (what a bitch, lol). Strangely enough, I found myself with a comfortable lead going into the night games in which Chad and I would play 2 on 2.
Because Chad had sealed AST already, I started Reggie Williams over Nash to ensure I won rebounds couple with Kaman. I was up 20 points going into the
game with Kaman/Reggie vs. Curry/Frye. I started walking away with rebounds and the title seemed getting close as their was still a nice spread in points. Then
someone told Frye he had permission to start raining shots and Curry was starting to rack em up before halftime. Kaman was doing his part to hold the line with
a nice first half. The 3rd quarter wasn't eventful as far as category changes, but by the 4th quarter I could tell PTS could become a problem unless Curry
decided to stop playing 2 man team ball with Monta Ellis, lol. Kaman continued to score which prolonged the misery until he finally sat down with the game won,
and Williams eased into double figures. With about 3 minutes to go in the Warriors game, All Hell broke loose (All Hell = Stephen Curry). I was up 8 pts and 7
rebs at that time. In 3 minutes, I witnessed fire and brimstone like nothing ever seen. I can't describe the carnage, but I will tell you that Chad won by 4 PTS and I
won by 1 REB and you can do the math as to what All Hell did.
This Finals was a treat to be involved in and I will never forget it. Win or lose, this is what it's all about folks. I love the hell out of this game and could never
imagine life without this league.

In closing, I hereby knickname Stephen Curry: All Hell. Whoever owns him next year can say "All Hell broke loose tonight, baby!". I think Stephen would get a
kick out of that and would like it if he heard it. I can hear it on SportsCenter now, "....halfway into the 2nd quarter, the lights went out and All Hell broke loose."
